OUGD402 - Studio Task : Free Ad

On the back of our PPP session with Fred we are asked to produce a free ad for each member of our group. We had to use the information we were provided with from our interviews with each other and produce a visual advertisement promoting the designer and their style.

From these interview answers I chose a few points which I felt were the most important. As I live with Laura I feel that I know her quite well meaning that this task should be fairly easy for me to complete. Along with the interview points I also took into account her personality and personal style.

An example of Laura's work.

Looking at this work Laura seems to have a very specific signature. She uses light fonts which have large spaces between each letterform. She also produces her work in black and white which is similar to my style.

I chose a light font and chose to just use type within the ad. I feel that Laura is better represented without illustration/image even though she does use it in her work.

I had two options to choose from and I chose to go with the one which I feel is the best to represent her design style.

For Melissa's free ad I chose to use a similar font to Laura's as I feel it is the best to represent her. I wanted to keep the design very simple as that is what I felt was represented in her favourite designers. Though Melissa does like illustration I do not want to advertise her as an illustrator because I feel that is not accurate.
