OUGD402 : PPP - Colour and Stock

When it comes to colour and stock choice I have my favourites, which I am sure many people do. It can be easy to fall back on specific stocks and colour themes but throughout the year I have tried to use a wide range of both.

My favourite stock is brown paper recycled paper. I love the effect it can give to a simple piece of design which has simple black illustrations on it. The effect it gives is the main aspect I favour and the contrast of the on screen and printed outcome.

Can be a really different take when added with a stock

Stock

Brown paper :

Organic
Lovely finish
Works really well with some of my favourite colours (Black and magenta?)

Bulky newsprint :

Feels nice when held
Off white but not too much
not too thick but thick enough for editorial which is one of my favourites

Antique White:

not used a lot during my time on the course as I have not felt it was necessary for any of the briefs but I do like it very much and think it would work really well for my illustrative side of my creativity.
